Like No Place Else

Palm Springs runs on a contradiction. It is a mid-century town sitting in a desert that would rather it were not there, and that friction is the whole reason people drive out.

So the spot stays with people rather than postcards. Bars and dining rooms, the hour when the light goes long, an ordinary evening in a town that is very good at ordinary evenings. The scenery is already famous. What sells the place is what it is like to be in it.
